The second phase of the refurbishment of the Municipal Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" will end in less than a month.
The total cost 120,000 euros, was funded by the Directorate General of Sports of the Autonomous Region, according to the mayor of Sports.
These works are part of the plan of complete renovation work of Hall, which began with the first phase was the reform of the hall and offices.
The councilman of Deportes, José Antonio Valverde Queen, has moved to the premises to show how the work evolves, which have focused on three areas: redevelopment of the ceiling, wood floor change and reform in the locker room.
The mayor said that in the first phase is already completed, has waterproof roof deck to solve the problem of leaks that annoyed viewers.
"Now, they are removing the old parquet floor that was more than 15 years and was causing problems.
First, it will level the floor of the Pavilion for a replacement of higher quality, "said Valverde Queen.
Other facilities are remodeled locker rooms.
The transformation is being completed, from floor to furniture as the mayor said during a visit to the pavilion.
"When everything is finalized, the municipality athletes can practice their activities in a more comfortable and more professional," said the mayor.
The last phase of works, which will reshape the area where the gym is located, will be held in the summer of 2009.
The mayor acknowledged the patience of the local clubs that regularly use the Pavilion, because during the summer months have not been able to pursue their activities to municipal facilities.
