The councilors of Women and Equal Opportunities, Josefa María Sánchez Méndez, and Health, Trini Cayuela, opened the discussion on "Healthy Nutrition", held last Wednesday at the Center Sociocultural Totana, an activity organized under the program for commemorate the International Day of Women's Health. "
Moreover, this activity is framed within the area of quality of life and health habits of the Second Plan for Equal Opportunities of Totana, and which has benefited from the involvement of the Department of Health to develop them with objective of improving the health of women in the municipality.
The municipal officials stated that the activities are planned with the aim of encouraging and promoting healthy habits and to educate women about the importance of looking after their health, both physical and mental and prevent diseases that affect them.
The talk was given by the dietitian, José David Cava, which focused on how to explain the food pyramid, the different types of carbohydrates, proteins, fats and vitamins, the requirements to be met by a balanced diet, etc.
At the end of the conference were invited to all persons attending the same to a tasting healthy.
On Saturday 31 May from 11:00 to 12:30 in the Sports Pavilion will develop a workshop on the prevention of physical health and stress reduction, in which they will work on preventing the injury for the home, and how to avoid them, stretching muscles to prevent back pain, muscle strengthening exercises to improve and prevent diseases, in addition to this technical work control and stress reduction to control breathing in stressful situations, music therapy and other relaxation techniques.
