The Councillor for Citizen Participation and Social Welfare, Juan Carrion Tudela, and the president and vice president of the Association of Families and People with Mental Illness of Totana and Aledo, AFEMTO, Miguel García Cánovas and Martínez Guerao Eulalia, inaugurated the free course "Volunteer Training in Mental Health", which is held at the Civic Center on Aging and with the participation of more than twenty people.
The course, which will be held on 19 and 20 May, with a total of 25 hours, is organized by AFEMTO, in collaboration with the local Town Hall and the Ministry of Social Policy of the Autonomous Community.
This training will include presentations by experts in mental illness such as psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists and sharing personal experiences.
The students of course in addition to the hours of theory must be made by a total of 10 hours of practice in the various workshops and activities that the association has, to be chosen voluntarily by the participant.
The councilman of Social Welfare encouraged all participants to take full advantage of this training, and welcomed the launch of this initiative, which will result in improved quality of life of those affected and their families.
He also congratulated the work and careers of this group in the municipality.
