Regional and local authorities and presided over the traditional ceremony of diplomas to members of the ninth class of International Baccalaureate students from IES "Juan de la Cierva" of Totana, which have graduated a total of 16 students corresponding the course 2014/2015.
The Mayor of Totana, Juan José Canovas, the CEO of Quality Education and Vocational Training, Fernando Mateo, and the director of IES "Juan de la Cierva" Juan Francisco Otálora, led this event, which was attended by members the municipal corporation, the teaching staff and students and families, as well as representatives of partner companies.
The same also gathered councilors Carlos Enrique Ballester, Victor and Javier Bathrooms Balsas, who wanted to accompany this moving ceremony students.
Indeed, the IES "Juan de la Cierva" held last September, the tenth anniversary of the implementation of the teaching program of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and eager for knowledge, able to contribute to create a better and more peaceful world.
EI IES "Juan de la Cierva and Codorníu" has developed this program from 2005/06;
and it is offered to students in the Bajo Guadalentín (Totana, Lorca, Alhama, Librilla and Mazarrón) the possibility of taking the diploma program International Baccalaureate more compatible with the curriculum of the Spanish School.
This allows participants also get the ordinary title of national high school, to be presented to the Diploma International prestigious title in the world, and in any case, get a solid preparation to start college.
Program International Baccalaureate Diploma is a complete training plan with a comprehensive and rigorous two-year curriculum, held parallel and together with the two courses Bachilleratonormal the Spanish curriculum.
Students are integrated into the BI group performed simultaneously Spanish school curriculum program and Diploma;
and meet the objectives of the national curriculum, with a more complete and thorough academic preparation, while queadquieren adequate preparation to introduce the proposed by the IBO and get the International Diploma exams.
The general objectives of BI are training students with a balanced, comprehensive and autonomous education, promote the formation of world citizens concerned with understanding and solidarity, and to facilitate international mobility.
Student means accepting responsibility for a greater number of teaching hours in high school and the commitment of daily work.
It is a school for students willing to work and with a satisfactory basis on the ESO, anxious and concerned about good personal training.
