Totana City Council paid tribute yesterday to totanero craftsman, Francisco Javier Tudela, successor to the saga of potters of the company "Alfar Tudela" on the occasion of the exhibition "Totana, art in clay" installed in the Exhibition Hall "Gregorio Cebrian "along the municipal Bethlehem.
The event was held in the hall of the municipal plenary and was attended by the mayor, Juan José Canovas, the CEO of Crafts, Trade and Consumer Protection, Francisca Cabrera, whose craftsman was awarded last year with the National Prize Ceramics.
On this occasion an exhibition under the name 'Totana, clay art' shows the work totanero craftsman in the municipal exhibition 'Gregorio Cebrián' develops.
The official ceremony was attended by the Councillor for Crafts, Antonia Camacho, many members of the Municipal Corporation and representatives of the professional sector in Totana, president of the Association of Local Artisans, Rosa Maria Sainz, friends and family of the honoree.
Francisca Cabrera stressed "the importance of crafts, because combines the values ​​of tradition with innovation of new methods and also the artisans are epitome of those who love what they do."
The master potter received this award for innovation and product development, as Francisco Javier Tudela has added to its research work and development of new craft products.
"Alfar Tudela" donated a large basin of the Consistory in gratitude for the public recognition of the town of Totana.
