On Friday October 23 it was held the awards ceremony of the second national competition "Organic school garden: an education in values."
The event, jointly organized by the Triodos Foundation and Fitness Association, was held at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Madrid.
At the event they were announced the winning schools, spokesmen centers throughout the national territory being present in the same.
Deitania noted that the College was at the gates of the first three positions and was awarded a diploma of finalist.
Teachers responsible for collecting the prize thoroughly enjoyed a day that masterfully combined presentations by experts in organic farming (Mariano Bueno) and values education (Joan Antoni Mele) with exhibitions of projects that were carried out during the past school year centers winners.
The auditorium, with these interventions, plunged into a state of synergy invited those present to reflect on their future educational activities, and personal, in and out of school orchards.
Such recognition is a boost for the center and the project managers, who have been reinforced his initial idea "the work done with humility, imagination and the will can overcome the lack of financial resources (the garden was built from recycling and reuse of materials) ".
Therefore, they have already contacted the local municipality to thank their collaboration last year and request certain structural measures to ensure the viability of the garden for years, since the current beds are very deteriorated.
Fortunately, representatives of the consistory who visited the center to see the shortcomings, have undertaken to carry out improvement works before the end of the first quarter.
Once completed, the center will continue the work started last year, with fresh ideas and objectives, but with the same goal, to continue spreading the learning and values in students to help them become people.
