The Minister Maria Dolores Pagan and the mayor, Juan José Canovas, agreed yesterday to promote citizen participation in the city "for all citizens who wish to participate in public affairs can do it in a simple, efficient and agile way," said the minister.
Both leaders signed the "Commitment to Citizen Participation 'for which Totana becomes the sixth municipality to join the Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation.
The adhesion of municipalities to the Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation that promotes the Presidential involves, among other things, the commitment to promote citizen participation processes to develop measures involving neighbors.
In return, the Community will provide support, advice and training in this matter to local authorities.
Maria Dolores Pagan also spoke of municipal cooperation, "for the Community wants to foster new relationships and collaboration frameworks that allow for more productive relationships between government, for the benefit and interest of the citizens."
So, the minister said his department is working on a model that allows municipalities to share services and infrastructure.
"In collaboration with the municipalities, we are conducting a study on areas and regions that allows to have an overview of the possibilities of developing this approach, with the collaboration of all municipalities," he said.
In this regard, he explained that the survey is being conducted of infrastructure and equipment of local authorities, which will provide a detailed map of the situation in all municipalities in the region and enable the Community to guide this shift.
