The Department of Youth and Education offer, once again, the project "Strengthening education" for the course 2015/16 school hours, which is aimed at schools and universities, in collaboration with the Department of Social Projection and Volunteering at the University of Murcia (UMU).
The councilors of both areas, Immaculate Blazques and Eulalia Moreno, presented this educational initiative, which seeks to support smaller school to reinforce them in those educational materials they need, thus improving their academic performance and study habits.
In addition, the project involves the collaboration of university students in exchange for credits in college develop volunteer work throughout the school year.
This educational intervention is to improve the learning of children and youth who are in disadvantaged socio-cultural contexts;
and for this purpose, additional intervention to their school through coordinated work of social actors involved in the educational process participants is performed.
This initiative also seeks to prevent and reduce the problems of failure, absenteeism and dropout under this agreement with the university.
Additionally, it seeks to encourage the promotion and social integration of these from the school, family and social levels through a process of capacity building, as explained the aldermen.
Are participating in the project between 40 and 50 students from different schools of Totana, basically of primary education, and tasks are taught in those schools two days a week in the afternoon.
The claim of the City and the University of Murcia is that it starts about mid-November, so that the students can start their enforcement activities and meet their teachers for support.
