The president and several directors of CEBAG kept in yesterday afternoon at the headquarters of CEBAG, a large meeting with the Mayor and almost all of the government team of Totana.
The meeting was primarily to lay the foundations of a partnership and ongoing participation among CEBAG and business associations and the mayor and the government team and the heads of each Department;
besides exchanging information and views on various issues proposed by both representations.
The Mayor of Totana, Juan José Canovas, opened the meeting by informing the representatives of CEBAG that although they could speak and report some of the issues covered, the debt problem is still the main focus on which gravitates all, because if the problems that arise every day are not addressed, could jeopardize the continued provision of some services and supplies to the citizens.
CEBAG President asked the Mayor and his entire government team, to accelerate as much as possible the quantification of municipal debt as well as the structure and origin and the refinancing plan thereof;
to finalize as soon as possible with major discrepancies on different numbers of each possible debt that are being raised by the various municipal political groups.
During the meeting which lasted for about two and a half hours information and positions on various issues such as the issue of operating licenses of companies and commercial establishments and catering exchanged;
on the possible continuation of the Association of Tourist Municipalities of Espuña;
on the situation of local crafts and the possible use of the facilities of the Technological Center of Crafts;
available on the desirability of a common infrastructure for fairs and events;
on the mark "TO" and other brands linked to Totana accrediting agricultural products (such as DOP Paprika or possible 2/2 recovery DOP Grape Dominga) and on the problems arising from the damage and the Barbary sheep Espuña boar and its surroundings.
By the President of CEBAG the Mayor and members of the government team was asked if they planned to address any debate or discussion process on the model of economic and social development of the municipality for the next decades, before addressing the General Plan Town Planning (PGMO) the municipality.
Both the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor, Andrés García, raised they are assessing how to approach the process of defining the economic and strategic model of the future of Totana and what attitude to take with respect to the General Plan.
But that, as stated Juan Jose Canovas, the government team was willing to listen positions and were outlining how to create participatory and consultative bodies on these and other issues.
By CEBAG moved to the mayor and the government team their willingness to participate in any group or discussion to define the economic and strategic framework or model of Totana and that, as representatives of citizens and businessmen who had presented more than 90% of the allegations Urbana Management Plan were convinced that it was possible to make an in-depth review and reorientation of the Plan, regardless of planning agreements detached from the town of Totana, and also address a process of working by consensus, which It could culminate and formally approved in a short space of time.
The Town Planning Carlos Ballester, reported that the actions of the Department were focusing on resolve and respond as soon as possible, several hundred urban records of various kinds, which had frozen the last year, as a result of all the technical team had focused exclusively on land-use planning.
Juan Jose Canovas proposed that, as there had been no time to address some of the issues covered and the government team had not yet defined its position on some of the issues raised, it would be appropriate to continue the meeting in two or three weeks, to discuss possible actions and positions on various issues.
