The mayor, Juan José Canovas, presided today the act of inauguration of the president of the Municipal Center Senior Totana, Jerome Martinez Gomez and members of the new Board of the Center for 2015/19 legislature, held in the municipal hall full.
The event was also attended by the first deputy mayor, Andrés García, Councillor for Seniors, Antonia Camacho, and representatives of different political groups of the Municipal Corporation.
The Board of the center, which is the operation of this body, is composed also by Juana Martinez Romera (vice president), Josefa García Crespo (secretary), Francisco Diaz Clares (treasurer) and Concepción Pérez Rubio (vocal) and the municipal technician Pedro Garre (secretary).
The council is responsible for drawing up and propose to the assembly work programs each year collaborating in its development and in monitoring compliance, ensure harmonious relations among users, create working committees for the organization of activities, among others .
They also work on promoting solidarity in situations of social need, such as actions to encourage the company to address, among others.
Jerome Martinez Gomez was elected on 25th September the new president of the Board of Municipal Senior Center, 168 support, a total of 334 votes cast.
In the elections they had also submitted two other candidates: Thomas Navarro Martínez (88 votes) and Pedro Tudela Rosa (77 votes);
who also received the thanks of the municipal authorities to contribute to the process.
As provided in the statutes, the new municipal corporation had to hold elections to the Board within six months of the establishment of the new City Hall.
Jerome Martinez will replace Legaz Vicenta, who had assumed the presidency of the Centre in the last seven years.
