The Popular Party of Totana held on October 12 at 11:00, Columbus Day coinciding with the feast of Pilar, a tribute to the flag of Spain and territorial cohesion.
An act that has been held for several years and until now by municipal governments but to events and public demonstrations that have been experienced in recent weeks in our City and our city by public leaders.
The Municipal People's Party and the Popular Party of Totana want to keep alive, simply, this solemn act for what it means and what it entails.
"We want to celebrate without fuss but also complex because it is a request for society, for it is celebrated in many towns and cities of Spain and, most important, because we have asked many residents of Totana and because many people that protect and defend the freedoms and rights behind this symbol, the national insignia.
This act is an "open and pluralistic" initiative to which all are invited to join the citizens of Totana to dignify the national flag and remember the constitutional principles that it symbolizes.
We want to take this opportunity to encourage totaneros, which they see fit, to display the national flag on their balconies next day October 12.

In addition there will be a tribute to the offering of a laurel wreath in honor of those killed at the foot of the Temple of Santa Eulalia.
