Representatives of the Municipal Corporation of Totana and public workers have held a minute's silence, at twelve o'clock noon, a sign of condemnation and rejection for the last three acts of male violence occurred in the last hours in different parts of Spain.
The mayor, Juan José Canovas, accompanied by representatives of various local groups, have expressed revulsion at these unfortunate events.
The City Council has condemned this symbolic act, and expressed his revulsion at what institutional supposedly could be three new cases of gender violence in Spain, which amount to 35 fatalities so far this year.
The three victims have died of cases of violence against women in Erandio (Vizcaya), Vigo (Pontevedra) and Beniel (Murcia).
He also left another very serious victim after being attacked allegedly by her former partner in Morales del Vino (Zamora).
The councilor has highlighted the "rejection" of these acts of violence against women and "solidarity" with the victims and their families to the murders of these women during the last days of gender violence.
Moreover, Canovas has shown the "revulsion" institutional by these events still asserting that "there remains a long way to go to end the violence, but we must go further in the fight against this social scourge."
