The Minister of Industry, Tourism, Enterprise and Innovation, Juan Carlos Ruiz, presented yesterday to the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez Ruiz, the Action Plan on Sustainable Energy (PAES), in a ceremony with the municipalities of Los Alcazares, Beniel, Caravaca and Archena.
These projects contain measures, said the counselor, "will allow these municipalities achieve energy efficiency targets set by the European Commission for the year 2020".
He also explained that "the Department has contracted, through the Institute of Development, the services of a regional specialized consulting to draft these five PAES" which were presented in a ceremony which was also attended the mayors of Los Alcazares, Anastasio Bastida;
Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda;
and the Councillor for Education, Environment, Water, Mobility and Sustainable Development Beniel, Patricio Martínez.
The Minister of Industry said that "the development of these five PAES was carried out in the framework of the European project STEP" and recalled the objectives of Europe 2020 (the famous '20 -20 to 20 '), which is a 20 percent reduction in energy consumption, a reduction of 20 percent of emissions of greenhouse gases and the use of at least 20 percent renewable energy.
"In the Region of Murcia we are working to achieve these objectives and PAES are undoubtedly a decisive step as they contemplate an average of 50 measurements per municipality to launch in the coming years, with the aim to achieve savings and energy efficiency, "said Juan Carlos Ruiz.
He also noted that "municipalities not for them to carry out all measures, since you have to apply in all types of buildings and equipment, in the residential sector, public lighting, municipal fleet and transport, both private and commercial ".
Among the actions that contemplate the SEAP include improved interior lighting installations and public lighting of streets and squares;
improving the management of energy consumption and air conditioning in buildings;
promoting water saving systems;
observation of compliance with the new Technical Building Code;
promotion of thermal and photovoltaic solar energy;
the incorporation of hybrid and electric vehicles in the municipal fleet, and the promotion of biofuels, among others.
In the case of Totana, with the implementation of the actions proposed in 2020 would be reached about 30.80 percent savings of energy consumed and 20.04 percent savings in CO2 emissions.
The approximate budget would be 106,760,000.
