The student Otálora Paul Berenger, 2nd International Baccalaureate, along with five other students was part of the team selected to represent the Region of Murcia in Spanish Physics Olympiad held in the Complutense University of Madrid.
Besides Paul, two other students also IES Juan de la Cierva, another student of IES Alfonso X and two Marist College Mercy.
This team of six excellent alumni / ae traveled to Madrid from 10 to 13 April, accompanied by Miguel Cañizares Millán (IES Professor Juan de la Cierva and Codorníu) and Encarnacion Pardo Matas (Professor of IES Alfonso X), which acted as delegates of the Murcia expedition.
In this Physics Olympiad attended by 137 students from all over Spain and selected as the best in their respective regional phases.
The competition was tough because they had to face, in all morning and Saturday afternoon, a thorough experimental test and three long and difficult theoretical problems.
Sunday was a day of rest (not that the correction) in which the Olympic and faculty student delegates were received at the Fundación Telefónica to hear a lecture on light, seasoned with surprising experimental demonstrations.
It was a day of coexistence and creating friendships among students from different Spanish regions.
The closing ceremony and awards ceremony was held on Monday in the auditorium.
