The Department of Women and Equal Opportunity has opened today until February 20 the deadline for submission of nominations for the tribute to totaneras women or entities involved in the overall development of women and gender equality in all walks of life.
The Municipal Equality Council met last night and approved the regulatory bases of honor this year, and the program of activities to be held to mark the International Working Women's Day is celebrated on March 8.
The call of these rules is intended to recognize and promote the work of individuals or legal persons who have contributed or highlight relevant way in defending the values ​​that promote gender equality in order to give impetus to political equality of opportunity and treatment between women and men, and thus contribute to improving the situation of women in Totana.
Proposals may be submitted by any organization or association or by at least one group of five people, must submit one candidate or group or entity.
Two modalities for the tribute are contemplated:
a) A totaneras women who have excelled so eminent in any sphere of social, cultural, political and economic life;
women who have promoted equal opportunity in all areas of life (education, sports, advertising, media, social, political, business or artistic).
b) an entity, legal person who has outstanding work or activity locally for their struggle for equality between men and women.
The tribute will consist of a mention and a diploma awarded publicly in the events of March 8, on the occasion of International Women's Day;
and may be granted a maximum of six people and an entity or organization.
The jury may declare any of the two modes.
