The Department of Education and Social Care today introduced the campaign for the prevention and control of truancy "Come to school!"
in the town of Totana, whose figures in the school year 2013/14 amounted to 2.01%, well below the regional and national average.
Councilwoman bouquet, Josefa María Sánchez, technical program manager Truancy, Joaquín Costa, and the agent of the local police, Andrés Martín Gómez, realized the actions covered by this program, and are coordinated by the Commission Municipal under the Municipal Plan of Totana School Absenteeism.
Education is compulsory by law from 6 to 16 years and it is the duty of parents to ensure that this is accomplished, it would constitute a crime and based on this can punish them.
