The Minister of Public Works and Planning, Francisco Bernabé, has agreed with the City, after a meeting with the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, Councillor for Infrastructure, María José Bedia, and Councilman Industry, Felix Cayuela, to offer an official response to the Municipal Land-use planning for this next spring, provided that the document be forwarded in a timely manner, as planned.
The mayor explained to the media gathered at the Ministry which has always been a bet of their municipal government to approve this important document for the municipality.
In this regard he stressed that this new Plan includes 95% of the proposals in the Planning Commission which has been working since December 2011 when the guidelines unanimously approved and land use is adapted to the new economic reality Totana.
In this regard has indicated that it has lowered more than 50% of developable land on the previous document, from 33 to 16%, in which the reservation of a large area for industrial development in the park "The Saladar" is included and pockets of industrial land created on the roads from Totana towards Alhama, Mazarrón and Lorca.
Of the 287 square kilometers by the municipality, this includes the protection of 80.32% of the territory (natural park Espuña ZEPAS, LIC and landscape and agricultural values, among others), 16.5% for developable land (more than half is industrial land), 2% for urban land and the remaining 1.3% goes to general systems (communications, infrastructure and services).
Road conditioning
Also during the meeting have been discussed several issues such as grooming and cleaning of the main regional roads that cross the municipality as the D-22 toward the Raiguero;

and E27 RM, towards the Paretón.
