Totana Civil Protection reports that in the past seven days (October 27, 02 November) there have been a total of 142 small earthquakes in the Valley Guadalentin, mostly concentrated in the eastern half of Espuña (north Totana City and west of the town of Alhama de Murcia), records (IGN) National Geographic Institute.
The two biggest earthquakes on Wednesday October 29 were recorded, whose magnitudes were 2 and 2.1 degrees on the Richter scale.
Moreover, the same day the total number of registered earthquakes was 50. On day 31 were recorded 24 and 21 30 and 28.
Of 142 earthquakes, 47 have had a magnitude between 1.5 and 2.1 degrees and 95 degrees between 0.3 and 1.4.
Civil Defence says they are, therefore, perceived by the population and weak earthquakes rarely, so that, in principle, do not be alarmed.
In this sense, the same sources indicate that it may be a win-win situation if Alhama Fault is releasing stored energy in this sector in recent years by many small earthquakes but very low magnitude.
