The Mayor of Totana, María Isabel Sánchez, together with the Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the director, Andrew Carter National Archaeological Museum, presented today at the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid the results of research and the findings at the site La Bastida.
In his letter, the Deputy Director General of Museums of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, Enrique Varela will be present;
Vice Chancellor for Institutional Relations and Territory of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​Manuel Sabés;
Pliego and Mayor Antonio Huescar, as will also present the findings of The Almohaya.
La Bastida is one of the most important fields aqueológicos European prehistory.
It was inhabited some 4,000 years ago in the Bronze Age Argar, and boasts an enormous potential for understanding our past and projecting the cultural and heritage of the Region of Murcia.
The deposit is located in the Sierra of the Third, on a steep hill at the confluence of the Rambla de Lebor and Salado Canyon, about 6 miles west of the town of Totana.
La Bastida was the first settlement and investigated argárico published monograph (1869) and The Society Argar was a milestone in the development of sedentary and urban planning, takeoff metallurgy and the development of political and economic inequalities .
La Bastida offers a unique and rare opportunity to meet this key stage of our past.
