Totana City Council, through the Department of Facility Management of the City is proceeding with the replacement of 6,400 lighting points to improve energy efficiency in the city, so that the emission of CO2 and reduce turnover electrical.
This change is being made gradually in all parts of the town and was completed in El Pareton, El Parral-San Francisco, Avenida Juan Carlos I, was Alta, Olympic, Pears, and Triptolemos Station.
The Mayor of Totana, María Isabel Sánchez, along with the council of the City Comprehensive Maintenance, María José Bedia, and the concessionaire responsible for this service FCC- Energy Services, José Manuel Covero, have moved to the neighborhood San Francisco to see first hand how they are carrying out the work of replacement.
The mayor of City Facility Management has indicated that they are renovating the streetlights that do not comply with the regulations of energy efficiency, allowing also produce savings in CO2 emissions counted at 963 major tnCO2 year compared with 1,578 which are recorded with the current street lighting.
Bedia pointed out that to carry out this project an audit of energy efficiency with a total of 909 areas were studied as locality.
