Totana City Council and the Association of Parents of Mentally Handicapped of Totana (PADISITO) have signed a collaboration agreement to take actions that contribute to improving the quality and life expectancy of people with mental disabilities and their families.
The signing of the agreement between the Mayor of Totana, María Isabel Sánchez and PADISITO president, Javier Bathrooms, propel the implementation of actions that impact on preventing social isolation often experienced by people with intellectual disabilities and their families .
Moreover, as explained Councillor for Social Care, Josefa María Sánchez, with this alliance opportunities for exchange and fellowship among friends and parents of children with intellectual disabilities that facilitate mutual support between the two will be created.
Among other things the training of professionals and stakeholders in appropriate attention to intellectual disabilities through courses, meetings, seminars and conferences will be promoted.
The mayor stressed that thanks to this agreement promotes the Municipal Protocol Care for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities to consolidate a circuit intervention with people with intellectual disabilities who are being served by respective organizations.
