The "Salus Infirmorum 'Association has opened the registration period of the course basic care of older people through workshops that will be held at school La Milagrosa April to June.
This course, set in the XII Meeting of totanero Volunteering ", is aimed at volunteers, caregivers and all those who perform their duties of care to people in different pathologies from a health, education and preventive purposes.
The Councillor for Health, Eulalia Sandoval, who presented the course with the teaching of the course coordinator, José María García, and the president of the Diocesan Council, Joaquina Lucerga indicated that this type of course is very necessary, because "we with an older population, with more elderly, and longer life expectancies, leading to a greater number of diseases and disabilities. "
The course runs from April to June on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00 hours at school La Milagrosa.
Specifically, as explained responsible for teaching the same theoretical and practical workshops will be conducted in two-hour sessions on: the elderly, social skills between the caregiver and the patient, the STROKE, the use and abuse of drugs, training and time Free, constipation, spiritual, dehydration, new technologies, materials, postural hygiene, nutrition, exercise and mobilization of the patient, dental care and basic needs, among others.
This training has a fee of 20 euros and can be performed every evening from 18:00 at the headquarters of "Salus Infirmorum" Romero Street 7.
The course also offers the possibility of internships in Lorca Caser residence and the Hospital Virgen del Alcázar.
