El Colegio "La Milagrosa" Totana yesterday hosted the official ceremony of World Rare Disease Day under the theme "Educating in Rare Diseases, a subject of all," which was held in the courtyard and has benefited from the presence of Hundreds of students from this school.
This has been assisted by the director of the College of the Miraculous, Pilar Perez, Mayor of Totana, María Isabel Sánchez, the director general of Department, Maria Dolores Valcarcel, Deputy Thomas Violante, President of the Spanish Federation of Diseases Rare (ERDF) and the president of the Association D'Genes and Naca Eulalia Pérez de Tudela Spanish Association Lipodystrophies (AELIP).
Each year, the Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases held in coordination with the European Organisation for Rare Diseases (EURORDIS) an awareness campaign around World Rare Disease Day, which takes place on 28 February.
The students at the school have to read 14 lines of action this year claimed ERDF Public Administrations in the geriatric field for patients with these rare diseases.
This awareness initiative students of all educational college courses participated.
Specifically in Spain, the 2014 World Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of caring for our education to achieve true integration and inclusion from the first years of life.
