COATO President, José Luis Hernández has been a speaker on the morning of 5 February, in a session on "Research and Innovation for Food Sovereignty in the Mediterranean", within the framework of the Fourth Conference on agro-ecology and eco Region of Murcia, having developed in the auditorium of the Ministry of Agriculture.

At the same meeting or roundtable on research and innovation has involved both the Deputy Secretary of the University of Murcia, María Ángeles Esteban, as the Professor of Botany at the University of Murcia and Coordinator of the conference, José María Egea.

Intervention COATO representative, after an introduction on the path COATO as producer and processor of organic products and leading European company in area of ​​organic farming, have focused on experience as the only Spanish company COATO member TP Organics, which is the only European platform for research and innovation in the agro sector officially recognized by the European Commission and hosted by IFOAM EU (the European organization of the International Federation of organic farming, which is a member COATO).

The intervention of José Luis Hernández has also been to explain why a producer, manufacturer and marketer of organic products as COATO company considers it important to be linked to a technological platform, in order that research and technological innovation in agriculture and products ecological, reach producers and businesses and develop and focus on issues that are of real interest to the operators of the sector, in addition to researchers.

COATO President also informed the recent establishment of agro-ecological technology platform Spain (PTA) which COATO is a founding partner and vice president, along with other major national organizations representing the organic sector as EEAS (technicians, teachers and researchers) , ECOVALIA (operators and certifiers of organic products); AMPOAS (producers) and other leading institutions and companies in the Spanish agro sector.
