In the first nine months of 2013, from January to September, 545 560 kg was recycled glass, while in the same time period were collected 268,171 pounds of paper and cardboard, of which 214,543 were made in clean and 53,628 points in service "door to door".
In this sense, the largest quantities of waste paper and cardboard were collected during the months of April (27,855 kilograms) and May (25,946 kilograms).
In addition, we collected a total of 165 480 kilograms of lightweight containers in recycling centers, in April being the month in which more waste of this nature were recycled (19,660 kilograms).
Organic Collection
As for the collection of organic MSW, in public, that is, in the containers located on the street, were collected in the first nine months, a total of 8,669,540 kilograms, which in the summer months when more is generated: July (1,038,360 kilograms) and August (1,028,700 kg), respectively.
According to the same sources inform the Department of the Environment, the collection of waste from street cleaning amounted, in recent months, to 90,060 kilograms, March being the month in which greater numbers were reached (10,820 kilograms).
Furthermore, the same report shows that 4370 liters of oil collected and 15,878 kilograms of domestic waste from electrical and electronic equipment.
Currently, the city has 101 recycling containers of paper and paperboard and light container 93, respectively.
