Totana City Council today offered institutional reception in the hall of the rally driver Luis Moya, in gratitude for his promotion of Rally ascent of Santa going to sponsor in its twenty-eighth edition to be held this weekend with the presence of about 40 pilots.
The mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez, and the Councillor for Sports, Bartholomew Pallares, presided over the ceremony which was attended by representatives of the Automobile Club de Totana, automotive test organized by the Mountain Regional Championship, and Automobile Federation of Murcia .
During the ceremony, city officials gave Moya embossed metal replica of the shrine of Santa Eulalia.
Career
Luis Moya sport began in 1983 debuting at Rias Baixas Rally co-driver José Mariñas being a Renault 5 Cup later teamed with Jose Mora, with whom he won the Rally Galician Championship in 1985 and 1986.
In 1988 he debuted with Carlos Sainz, who accompanied pilot for fifteen years (1988-2002).
With Carlos Sainz won two world titles in 1990 and 1992, four runners-up and five third places.
His last race in the world was the Rally of Great Britain 2002.
During his career he has participated in 161 trials, getting 24 wins.
