The neighboring city of Totana and the council of The Raiguero decontamination works have been undertaken in Guadalentin riverbed to avoid the plague of mosquitoes during the summer months, causing many problems with insects neighbors and farmers in the area.

The work has been carried out on the section of the channel that passes through the town of Totana, from the town of Lorca to its intersection with Teresa Juan Road, site of the river dam.
