The unemployment rate fell by 4.86% last month thanks to 117 new jobs created, bringing the number of unemployed in 2292, representing a decrease from the 2,409 unemployed in May, according to sources the Department for Employment and Productive Sectors.
By area, the sector recorded was greater variation of Industry, where unemployment fell by 11.66% (33 new jobs), followed by the construction which fell 8.61% (29 jobs) and Services sector which fell by 5.96% (76 employees).
Furthermore, they were seven people who got their first job (4.29%), while in the Agriculture sector, by contrast, increased the number of unemployed at 28, going from 350 to 378 (up 8% ).
By gender, 70 women (-5.91%) were able to find a job compared to 47 men (-3.84%), being 1,178 the number of unemployed men compared to 1,114 women.
These figures also show that, by age, those older than 45 years were more likely to find them a job 52 (-5.81%), followed by those under 25 years (36 jobs, -15.38%), and those of 25-44 years (29 jobs, -2.27%).
Additionally, these aggregates are more positive when compared over the same data June 2012, in which in which the number of standing was 2.419 compared to 2.292 current, which translates into increased 127 employees, ie unemployed rate of - 5.25% over the same month last year.
