The corporal in charge of the Canine Unit of the local police in Totana, José AntonioValera Morell, participated last June 14 at the conclusion of the course I dog handlers Drug Detector Dog for Local Police, which took place at the Academy of Extremadura Public Safety (ASPEX), which lasted six months.
This course was organized by the Association of Local Police dog handlers of Spain and Extremadura Safety Academy said, in addition to a team of instructors canine trainer local police and Villanueva Rivas Vaciamadrid the Linnet.
In the same team participated as a trainer Cape Canine Unit of the local police in Totana.
In that course students attended various local police Spanish geography, as Vigo, Menorca, Estepota, Algorfa, Torrevieja, El Cuervo, Badajoz, Alcoy, Socuéllamos, Torrejon de Ardoz and Jimena de la Frontera.
The 37 players who completed the course received their diploma Canine Guide specializing in narcotics detectors, from the hands of Minister of Interior of the Government of Extremadura, who attended the closing ceremony and exhibition of the Canine Units that course participants.
In addition to the training received in the ASPEX, students had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Portuguese National Republican Guard, with which agents shared a very intense day on different training techniques in drug-sniffing dogs.
It is the first time you perform a course of its kind in the country and comes to reflect the importance in daily work with Canine units within local police, conducting surveillance and retail drug prevention, in parks, gardens, proximity to schools and entertainment, mainly due to its proximity with the public everyday and functions that the law gives them
