The Popular Party will request a motion in full this April to the Directorate General Environment of the Ministry of the Presidency to be placed or constructed curbs in unmarked pits regional park Espuña to avoid accidents.
Requested in the motion signal existing wells within the regional park to promote the safety of pedestrians and hikers, minimizing the possible environmental impact on the area.
The motion says Espuña a regional level regarding issues concerning nature sports such as hiking, biking, orientation, paragliding, rock climbing or caving, among other disciplines.
This makes them hundreds visitors, hikers and sportsmen using natural landscapes of this territory, especially during weekends and holidays, for sports and other leisure activities and free time.
Sports and leisure activities and free time to enjoy nature Espuña a splendid setting and allow all visitors access to a sport in which the medium will be rediscovered as walking landscapes, trails, slopes and valleys.
By contrast, the Sierra de Espuña there are many wells, distributed by some easily accessible places and some not marked and illegal, which can lead to security problems pedestrians and hikers, and it would be highly desirable, minimizing their impact environmental area, the construction or placement of curbs that allow precise location.
At present, there are numerous existing wells in different places in the mountains, some of them located in the hamlets of Las Tanganeras, New Road La Santa and Sopanvino, among others.
The curbs are edge structures of stone or brick that are placed around the mouth of a well and used for viewing and avoid the danger of falling into a well.
Construction of curbs or structures with solid parapets surrounding wells allow surface level, and provide security and convenience to pedestrians.
Also usually placed on the curb a lid or sealed to prevent dirt from falling into the well.
