Intervida Foundation Members and Service to Diversity and Volunteerism at the University of Murcia visited on Monday 25 February this county, interested in learning about the functioning of the Educational Support Project recently launched in Totana.
This project is carried out in collaboration between the City of Totana, through the Councils of Youth and Education and Care said to Diversity.
Both entities have been cooperating since the beginning of the school year in tasks of organization, coordination and dissemination of that project.
With this partnership both companies expressed their willingness to establish a partnership and a coordinated awareness and allowing the approximation of the university community to the problems caused by social inequalities, cultural and economic, roasted as the opportunity to direct collaboration, thus strengthening solidarity networks.
Intervida Foundation is a nongovernmental organization that works closely with the Service to Diversity and Volunteerism at the University of Murcia.
It works in countries around the world by developing focused development projects mainly in the fields of health and education, many of them directed especially to children, hence the interest in this type of projects.
Both entities visited the Colleges "Reina Sofia" and "The Cross", two of the six schools involved in this project, as shown in the work that is being developed by college students who work in this educational project.
In exchange for this voluntary collaboration, students will earn college credits along with a certification attesting to the services provided.
The project involves six student volunteers from the University of Murcia giving educational support to a total of thirty pupils in primary education.
