During the months of January and February 2013 a course was developed Social Skills for Employment Project with students WORK: a step towards employability, Totana developed by the Collective for Social Promotion "The Candle".
This course are part of the training activities carried out by The "LABOR: A step towards employability" project, which is working in Totana since November 2007, in collaboration with the City of Totana and funded by 20% by Murciano Institute of Social Action and by 80% by the European Social Fund.
Through this project is to inform, educate and guide unemployed people on issues related to the workplace.
It is an initiative of social and employment measures, whereby it seeks to facilitate the employment of people who are interested in actively participating in the change of becoming unemployed.
The workshop Social Skills for Employment has lasted for 36 hours and he participated in fourteen students / unemployed as the municipality.
This training has been developed in the Social Center of San Roque neighborhood, being made possible through the collaboration offered by the Hon.
Totana City Council through the Department of Social Care and Citizenship.
The objective of this course was to improve basic social skills, a vital aspect in finding and keeping a job.
This has been worked areas such as communication, active listening, personal knowledge and improved self-esteem.
The final assessment of the course has been very positive from the students, who have described it as "a workshop where I learned important things about me, has allowed us to know each other better and learn to relate better with the people around us"
