IFOAM is the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements representing producers and processors of organic farming worldwide.
IFOAM EU is headquartered in Brussels, from the lobby makes organic farming before the European Commission and other European institutions and community institutions.

IFOAM EU representatives held a meeting with the President of COATO, Jose Luis Hernandez, and several directors of this company, which also included the President and the technical coordinator AMPOAS (Mediterranean Association of Manufacturers and Operators of Sustainable Agriculture) who is also a member of IFOAM.
At this meeting met the trajectory and current situation in farming COATO and analyzed the situation of organic farming in Spain and the need for continuity of support for organic farming in the new EU rural development program 2014-2020, valuing complementary environmental services provided by organic crops.
They also gave a review of the need to liberalize the certification of organic production in Spain, which is from private bodies in 70% of the surface, while the other 30% is certified as a monopoly from public bodies dependent of the various Departments of Agriculture.
IFOAM representatives also made a visit to the various facilities and store COATO Bioshop in which admired and praised the wide range of products and processed organic products from raw materials from organic farms associated COATO.
