The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez and Councilwoman Development and Employment, Mary Jose Baeza, met recently with representatives of the Association of Families and Women in Rural Region of Murcia (AFAMMER) in order to establish lines of cooperation in training aimed at this sector of the population.
Participants included the president of the association, Carmen English, technical and Maria Angeles Garcia, and the municipal technical Morera Isabel.
This organization is the first rural women's association created in Spain (1982), and pursues the promotion, improvement and protection of livelihoods cultural, economic, social and natural rural women.
It also works in promoting rural women through training for employment, social and cultural participation, improving their quality of life and personal development, carrying out training courses and cultural conferences for women to know all the means that are at their disposal.
