A total 165 students of primary and secondary education in different schools of Guadalentín participate this Saturday in the local phase of the XXIII Olympiad Mathematics, whose initiative has the support of the Center for Language and Communication (CPR) and the Department of Lorca of Education, respectively.
The event, which has been held in different schools in Lorca since 1999, is aimed at students in sixth grade and second of ESO and the same participants dealing with the solution of mathematical problems.
The winners will compete in the regional and even national stage.
The Mathematical Olympiad will meet students of schools of Eagles, Aledo, Alhama, Librilla, Mazarron, Lorca, Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras, and its celebration in Totana is to reward high participation of students and educational teams in recent totaneros previous editions.
In addition, this initiative also aims to become one day closer to the scientific work of mathematics as a field of knowledge and coexistence between students, parents and teachers of the participating centers.
