The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez Ruiz and CEO of Citizen Services and Addictions of the Ministry of Health, Juan Manuel Ruiz Ros, along with the representative of the Delegation of the Government's Health, Purification Rodriguez, and representatives all levels of health in the Region, among others inaugurated the "Fourth National Conference on Rare Diseases" held throughout the weekend in Totana.
At the meeting, by which citizenship aims to raise awareness of the difficulties that these patients are daily, have gathered more than three hundred medical researchers and relatives of people with this type of pathology.
The mayor welcomed all participants who have gathered in the Lifelong Learning Center for Hemophilia and stressed the need for concerted efforts to search for resources that impact on improving the quality of life and care for those affected and family.
It has also expressed a desire to continue contributing to the initiatives presented by this partnership, "D'Genes" Totana and take actions that contribute to improving the quality and life expectancy of patients and their families.
Also thanked all attendees, speakers and participants for their role and contribution in this Fourth National Conference on ER, contributing to their participation in a useful pedagogical and social training for this type of disease.
Sanchez Ruiz Totana stressed that it is important that town has become a benchmark in regional and national research and study of such diseases, thus being of great importance that every year takes place this type of conferences that achieve possible to improve the quality of life of patients and relatives who are suffering from this problem, 365 days a year.
Congress has also been opened by the director of the State Reference Center ER de Burgos, Miguel A.
Carabias Ruiz, the director of ECCO research group at the University of Almería, Antonio Banon, the School of Social Work, Enrique Pastor, the president of the Spanish Federation of ER (ERDF), Isabel Calvo, Chief of Hematology Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, Manuel Moreno, and the Association President D'Genes, Naca Pérez de Tudela.
