The mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez, and the Councillor for Citizen Participation and Neighborhood Relations, Josefa Maria Sanchez, met recently with the Lebor Residents Association informing them of the new ordinance to regulate future assignment and guidelines management of social centers in neighborhoods and districts of the municipality.

Totana City Council last summer and made a proposal to the neighborhood associations to reduce costs in maintenance and management of municipal and local community centers, thereby saving the costs of their use.

This legislation, which is currently under development by the municipal technical input from neighborhood groups, to allow regular set of associations that employs, under assignment, city-owned facilities for use and self-management.

The Consistory will not assume the costs of maintaining local social neighborhood such as cleaning, replacement of items such as lights, bulbs and repair of damage caused by the use of infrastructure and the corresponding derivatives of telephone and Internet service.

The City will assume only the costs of electricity and water to a limit that is already setting in these meetings by consensus with the neighborhood associations.

Neighborhood associations involved are existing social centers in San Roque, San Francisco, El Parral, was Alta, San Jose, Olympic-Pears, Tirol Camilleri, Lebor, The Paretón, Raiguero Low and La Huerta.

During the meeting, city officials also realized the economic situation of the City Council and explained to the residents of Lebor cutting measures and fiscal adjustment being made under the Sanitation Master Plan Financial Officer.

He recalled that the City has frozen grants for the year 2011 with associations and groups in different areas of activity, given the current economic situation of the Consistory and as one of the measures that comprise the specific sheet marked by austerity team government to clean up municipal coffers.
