The departments of Public Safety and Tourism have launched a policing plan to shield the perimeter of the Reservoir of La Bastida Argaric to prevent theft and damage that may occur both inside and in the vicinity of the site.
Councillor for Citizen Security, Francisco Hernandez, explained that a private security work being carried out will be added effective local police to establish a larger perimeter surveillance, especially at night.
The fact of carrying out this device lies in the importance of the excavation work being done by the group of archaeologists from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​at the hands of the project manager, Vicente Llul.
This research project developed and broadcast in La Bastida includes archaeological excavations aimed at discovering the urban layout, retrieve the object witness to the activities of its inhabitants and the tombs that the people of El Argar conducted under the floor of their homes and as the restoration and conservation of archaeological finds, the retrieval of the ancient interventions of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and scientific analysis.
Thus, it becomes a natural area in this town as a research center of Mediterranean prehistory and a place of tourist interest alive and to promote knowledge of Argaric.
