The school "Luis Perez Rueda" received yesterday for the first time in its history the traditional ceremony that officially kicks at the beginning of the school year 2011/2012 in the municipality.
The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, the Councillor for Education, Maria Josefa Sanchez Mendez, director of the school, David Romar, and the Regional School Board president, Luis Navarro, were commissioned to officially open the course in which nearly 3,000 students have started their classes in 14 schools in the locality.
More than fifty people, including politicians, teachers from other schools, principals, parents and representatives of several AMPAS, participated in this event during which students at the school conducted a representative sample of bilingual education project that takes place at school.
The Councillor for Education said that, as citizens of Totana, all "we are committed to taking responsibility, and that result in the good future of the students we have in our schools, so it is important to set goals to do everything possible to comply with them. "
He acknowledged that no words can describe the thanks from all agencies and levels has for teachers and professors, as they are instrumental in the development of education of students.

Meanwhile the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sánchez Ruíz, recalled that, despite some problems that we are working on solving them, the Colegio Luis Perez Rueda is one of the best schools in the locality, either by their facilities, such as educational programs led by its bilingual character.
He also put in the important significance of the AMPAS collaboration of the schools that prepare their work towards safeguarding the interests of children, always betting on improving infrastructure and quality of educational services.
He also stressed the excellent work of teachers towards students, since they are responsible for promoting the values ​​of responsibility, effort, cooperation and respect basic principles of a free society and equal opportunities.
Sánchez Ruiz acknowledged that the course has begun a complex involved in social and economic situation in which one can think at some point, that education can be severely affected by this situation.
But he said that this year have started the course about 3,000 children and young people who enjoy this quality education in the best infrastructure, which recalled that last year alone two schools were expanded, the Tierno Galván and Santa Eulalia , and started the new College of the Cross, in the urbanization of Ramblica.
