Totana City Council agreed at the last ordinary session of the previous legislature request the Regional Employment Service and the project grant Fomraicón Escuela Taller "Casa de las Monjas II", amounting to 899,048.18 euros and whose total cost amounts to the amount of 934.048.18 euros, according to sources from the Department of Economic Development.
The main activities of this project, if such funding is granted to the Consistory totanero is to enable the building and its environment for use as a shelter for both tourist and sporting.
Initially, the project of the Escuela Taller "Casa de las Monjas I" held in the previous legislature allowed to rehabilitate the existing historic building, which the City acquired the property for use as a Center of Interpretation of Nature, which was amended at the time because of the demands raised later.
Future Workshop School would consist of three workshops (carpentry set, masonry and plumbing, electricity) and allow the formation to a total of 32 students.
The project includes the rehabilitation of the main building, their paths and fencing for use as shelters, providing 60 beds, dining room seating for the same users, kitchen, toilets and showers for catering and visitors, and two multipurpose classrooms, audiovisual and other laundry.
The building has a floor area of ​​600 square meters with three T-shaped wings, spread over two storeys built on comprises several units, is located within a parcel of 18,650 meters square of forest within the natural landscape of Sierra Espuña.
