Great success of the Coral "Vox Musicalis" at concerts offered for "Spaces Sonoros'11" (13/06/2011)

Last April the Polyphonic Choir "Vox Musicalis" Totana gave two concerts for the series "Sound Space 2011", along with Pedro Pérez (director of the group) as soloist, the Chamber Orchestra and the director Mallorca Cartagena Quetglas Tomeu .

At the invitation of the cycle to "Vox Musicalis" offered several concerts, the group began working to fulfill the expectations placed in him, and be at the level of quality and high standards that characterize this event.

The series "Sound Space", one of the most important national level, develops in historical sites and monuments of Cartagena, Lorca and Caravaca.

Within the same prestigious artists have performed nationally and internationally, such as The King's Singers and The Tallis Scholars.

The Requiem of John Rutter (b. 1945) was released in 1985 in Dallas (Texas, USA).

This is a work for chorus with orchestral accompaniment, and consists of 7 movements.

The first (Requiem aeternam, "Eternal Rest") consists of the Introit and the Kyrie of the Mass for the dead.

The second movement (Out of the deep, "From the depths") used as the text Psalm 130, which is commonly used in the funerals of the Anglican church, and includes a major solo cello.

The third movement is the motet Pie Jesu, for solo voice.

During this movement the chorus is seated and responds to interventions by the soloist, as if it were an echo with the words "Give them eternal rest."

The fourth movement (Sanctus) consists of the Holy and Benedictus, and possesses a strong bright and lively character.

The orchestration in this movement includes bells, flute, oboe and timpani.

The fifth movement (Agnus Dei, "Lamb of God") combines the text of the Requiem Mass with English text from the Lamentations of Job (14:1).

Also, the sixth (The Lord is my shepherd, "The Lord is my shepherd") uses the text of the famous Psalm 23, commonly used at funerals Anglicans.

Finally, the seventh movement (Lux aeterna) includes, besides the text itself of the requiem mass, a short text in English sung by the soloist ("I heard a voice from heaven ...").

Parts completed the program For the Beauty of the Earth, The Lord bless you & keep you and the Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Fauré at the same version with orchestration Rutter.

The concerts took place in Cartagena and La Palma de Cartagena, and enjoyed a large attendance.

This was the third draft of "Vox Musicalis" with orchestra and soloists.

The group closes and a brilliant academic year 2010-11, which has won the 3rd prize in the National Competition XXXII Nanas and Carols "Villa de Rojales (Alicante) and the 1st prize in the National Competition IV" Hazelnut (Asturias), where he also received the award for best interpretation of the work required and best interpretation of the work in the region of origin.

In addition, for the first time in its history, the choir participated in the last procession of silence of Holy Wednesday of Totana, performing a cappella pieces to pass Stmo images.
