The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the councilman of Deportes, José Antonio Valverde Queen, met recently with the CEO of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, to study the future use can be given to building Casa de las Monjas in sport and its possible conversion as High Performance Centre for mountain sports.
The claim of municipal and regional leaders to promote a cooperation agreement between the General Directorate of Sports, the city of Totana and the Mountaineering Federation of Murcia for this infrastructure to become a center of technological, training and specializes in high performance sport contact with nature.
The use of this building, which is municipal property and is being rehabilitated under the School-Workshop project has funded the autonomous region, would be compatible with the use by social and neighborhood of the town of Totana.
The councilman of Deportes, José Antonio Valverde, reported at the end of the meeting is that the idea of the City is that the infrastructure has a permanent use for most of the year and get a financial return, so as to reconcile the use by Totana's neighbors in the orienteers, mountain climbing, hiking and other disciplines related to sport in nature.
