The Emergency Department, through Totana Civil Protection has activated the Amber Alert for heat wave plaguing the entire region of Murcia, with maximum temperatures of 40 degrees during the day Wednesday 11 August.
The adverse weather phenomenon orange level stands as start time of the impact of this heat wave between 13:00 hours and 19:00 hours, with a probability of 40 to 70 percent.
Therefore, from Totana Civil Protection has offered a series of recommendations to be wary of this heat, among which regular drinking often accused even without thirst (a reference number may be 3 liters in water, juice and soft drinks) and eating foods that promote hydration (gazpacho, watermelon, pears, etc..).
Also, avoid prolonged sun exposure, especially in the middle of the day, use appropriate sunscreen, wear light clothes, attend cool place, avoid hot air flows, no sports in the heat of the day, and drink fluids before and after exercise
