The Department of Hand Craft Artisans Associations work closely with the organization of national seminars on new techniques applied to ceramic materials to be held in Totana 2 and 3 October.
The town of Totana has been chosen as the site of the celebration of this event by the Spanish Association of Towns of Ceramics (AECC) which is a part.
For two days, according to Councilwoman advance Crafts, Isabel Sánchez Ruíz, they go to town artisans and makers of the 33 cities that make up the national association.
The participants, while complementing the knowledge of craft may carry out complementary activities related to pottery and see the exhibition being prepared by the two municipal associations, Asarta and Crafts and Pottery Totana the hand of the Association of Regional Technology Center Murcia.
Also explained that these days, to be held at the Shrine of the Holy, are aimed at the potters of the Region of Murcia to know more directly what are the new materials that can be applied to the development of ceramics .
Sanchez Mendez explained that currently, potters need to adapt their traditional business into a new market and in this sense is very important to encourage the formation of the same, so the AECC is putting much emphasis on finding alternatives for potters.
The mayor explained that the AECC was born more than two years to create a network of cities for the empowerment of ceramics through the joint promotion for development heritage, cultural and economic development of cities with ceramic origin.
Thus, at present are 33 members, of which 30 are municipalities, and Totana is the only part of the Murcia region, so that their work within the association carries a significant role.
