Totana boost employment and promote the employability of vulnerable groups through the project mappers (Murcia Rural Employment Activa), whose project was signed this morning by the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, the Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine, and the mayors of Cieza, Antonio Tamayo, and Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
This project, as explained Martinez Andreo, aims to encourage in these three municipalities, the labor insertion of the groups with integration difficulties (women, long-term unemployed people, the disabled or young people under 30 years), mainly through training and counseling, and promote the implementation of social accountability measures in the three municipalities.
Specifically, in Totana actions will be directed to the collective training of women and will start a course of more than 400 hours on "Help at home."
During the ceremony, Sotoca recalled that the program has a budget of 850,000 euros and will run until June 2011, adding that "it is a commitment to employment as the best weapon to fight against social exclusion."
In the town of Totana 75,050 euros has been earmarked by the Autonomous Community to implement this project.
For the project the three councils working in coordination with the objectives to promote the employability of disadvantaged groups, through integrated insertion pathways and processes of training and practices, promotion of integrated sustainable development activities, ensuring equal opportunities for men and women in the workplace, and promote the use of new technologies in the processes of training, job placement and as a working tool.
Project Pillars
To fulfill these objectives, the program provides for the launch of Solidario Occupational Observatory located in Puerto Lumbreras, whose objective is to analyze the situation of the municipalities in terms of social responsibility to develop benchmarks that measure the development of SMEs in respect for the environment, labor and social inclusion for disadvantaged groups or social development.
The Maper also provides start-up in each municipality of the Socially Responsible Territories Office (O-Three) to promote specific action plans and social responsibility in local businesses.
Third, it provides for the creation of centers of Labor Revitalization, in supporting unemployed workers throughout the job placement process.
And finally, it encourages the implementation of training activities aimed at strengthening the integration process of the unemployed by improving their access to employment.
In all the activities included in the program also participate Maper various collective associations which are directed behavior, such as associations of housewives, disabled people, women and consumers.
The employment minister believes that active employment policies and projects like the Maper "takes a step towards shaping a more competitive labor market, which always prevail quality in employment and equal opportunities ".
