The President and several executives of CEBAG held a long meeting last Wednesday with the Mayor of Totana and several councilors of his government team.
The meeting, which lasted two hours, had been requested by CEBAG to express its willingness to collaborate with the new Mayor and be interested in various matters of interest to employers.
The mayor of Totana, Andrés García, reported in detail to CEBAG executives about the difficult economic situation of the City Council and about the efforts that, from the Mayor's Office and Government team, are being made, before different national and regional institutions, to improve the conditions and repayment terms of the City Council's large debt, which allows the release of part of the expenses that are now dedicated to the amortization of the debt and improper current expenses;
to other investments and services needed for citizens.
The Mayor also informed the directors of Cebag that the government team is trying to make the Adjustment Plan affect only small tax increases and taxes for citizens.
Andrés García also expressed to the CEBAG leaders that he has some ideas and proposals to revitalize and promote the archaeological complex of La Bastida, for which purpose he will propose to create a working group to debate and agree, among all the sectors involved, a Plan of action, financing and musealization of the Bastida.
The President of Cebag transferred to the Mayor the favorable disposition of the Confederation and its associations to participate in that working group, and try to involve business groups to collaborate in the tourist and economic development of Totana, through the Bastida and other attractions of our municipality.
The Mayor also transfer to the directors of Cebag who are waiting for the Ministry of Planning and Development of Murcia to submit to the City Council a resolution with corrections or deficiencies that must be corrected, before the possible approval of the General Plan of Municipal Planning of Totana (PGMO).
To questions of directors of Cebag the Mayor said that he maintains his proposal, raised at the time of his inauguration last June, to make a public consultation to totaneros on the model of urban development they want for the future of Totana , before the final approval of the PGMO, as it is being considered for other matters (Date of the Pilgrimage of La Santa or preferences for investments of the Works Plan).
The Town Planning Councilor, present at the meeting, reported in detail to the directors of Cebag of the efforts made in recent months around the PGMO of Totana.
The Mayor also expressed his intention to convene in the coming months some advisory bodies, such as the Agrarian Advisory Council, while he reported the roads that had been repaired or paved in recent weeks and which was planned to repair and asphalt and those that have been proposed to the Autonomous Community.
The President and the directors of Cebag present at the meeting transferred to the Mayor and the councilors of Finance and Urbanism that accompanied him, the total willingness of Cebag and its associations to participate in any work commission or advisory body that they summoned from the City Council , expressing satisfaction with the cordiality and spirit of collaboration, and even the high level of agreement, in which the extensive exchange of views on the various issues dealt with took place.
