The Department of Works, Infrastructure and Services to the City has made refurbishment of Jacinto Benavente Street, one of the ways out of the Tirol-Camilleri neighborhood, with an investment amounting to 6,300 euros, and that comes to respond to a neighborhood request, according to its owner, Víctor Balsas.
In this neighborhood, in addition, the Department of Infrastructure has completed the paving of sidewalks and parterres in the section that was missing to run on Juan Carlos I Avenue, an action that has been undertaken in recent months with municipal workers and unemployed contracted within the framework of the "District Councils" program.
The works that began last November have been carried out in those spaces that affected the section between the roundabouts of the "Kabuki" and the "Donor of Blood", and that were pending execution.
The Department has undertaken these works of placement and coating of sidewalks in a stretch of more than 770 linear meters on Juan Carlos I Avenue, at the height of the Tirol-Camilleri neighborhood, in order to adapt the urban journey.
The works have been executed by operators within the two shifts cited of the aforementioned program of the "District Councils" and have had a budget of 17,000 euros, thus responding to one of the main demands of residents and users of this neighborhood.
In addition, in this same neighborhood of Tirol-Camilleri, the Department of Parks and Gardens of the City of Totana has undertaken works of comprehensive renovation and improvement of the Garden "Buero Vallejo", which had a large state of neglect and very deteriorated.
The actions consisted basically in the renewal of surface gravel, substitution of irrigation pipes for the trees, placement of rubber paving homologated for children's games and the placement of 13 new semi-dense trees that provide shade in summer (casuarina species).
The improvement works also allowed the placement of a new slide in the area of recreational games for children, whose total cost amounts to more than 7,000 euros, as Victor Balsas recalled.
