The Local Government Board has recently approved the initiation of the file to contract the collection service for abandoned, stray or stray animals;
the removal, transportation and management of dead animals;
and the control of feline colonies in the municipality of Totana.
The proposal of the councilor for Finance and Contracting has been given the green light to start the bidding process and approve the list of economic-administrative and technical legal clauses, authorizing the expenditure for a total amount for the two years plus two years of possible extensions of 64,877.28 euros VAT included.
The service basically refers to the collection of abandoned, stray or lost animals, removal, transport and management of dead animals and control of feline colonies in the Totana area.
It will also be the object of the contract to carry out campaigns to raise awareness of pet ownership of the population.
In this sense, the contract will be the live animals of the species considered as domestic or companion, canine, feline, ferret, equine (ponies and similar), porcine (varieties such as Vietnamese and similar) except for rental animals, as well as the corpses of both the animals of the aforementioned species and other animal species, such as pigs, sheep, goats, cattle and game species, provided it is duly justified by the municipal technical services.
In addition, the contractor will provide landline and mobile numbers and other communication systems that will be operational 24 hours a day, in order to be in permanent contact with the City of Totana.
The contractor must have adequate facilities to carry out the sanitary surveillance of the aggressor animals in accordance with what is established in the Municipal Ordinance on protection and possession of companion animals and any other applicable regulations.
It will also have adequate facilities for housing animals according to their physiological and ethological needs.
Likewise, you must present a program for the adoption of the animals collected, maintaining a permanent adoption campaign for the animals, including a web page or link from the municipal website, where you can consult the entry forms of each of the animals in the premises of the contractor.
