The Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" hosted on Friday February 16 the Local Phase of "Playing Athletics" of the School Sports program, organized by the Department of Sports, and which involved the participation of 145 school children from different centers of teaching of the locality, pertaining to the category benjamín, as much in masculine modality as feminine.
In this school competition, there were five different tests: 10x10 meter race, jump rope, soft javelin throw, medicine ball throw and triple jump from standstill.
The participation was by teams, formed by five schoolchildren, in such a way that each one of them had assigned a compulsory test and another one drawn.
In the male modality, the Santa Eulalia School won the first place, followed by the Tierno Galván School and the Reina Sofía School, in the second and third positions respectively.
As for the feminine modality, the Tierno Galván School was the champion, and the Santa Eulalia School occupied the other two positions on the podium, with its A and B teams.
With the presentation of trophies and medals by the Town Planning Councilor, Carlos Ballester Méndez, the competition concluded.
In addition, the male and female champion team will have the opportunity to participate in the Regional Final of Playing Athletics School Sports, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia, on Thursday, March 1, in Sewer.
