The councils of Infrastructures and Water and Sewerage have begun this week jointly the works of renovation of the network of supply and sanitation in a section of the Cañada Zamora, until its intersection with the street García Alix, for what has been cut to the road traffic the affected part of this way.
These actions are included in the Regional Action Plan for the Promotion of Municipal Works and Services (PARDOS), financed by the Autonomous Community for the year 2016;
and they have begun once they have completed the similar actions undertaken in Cánovas del Castillo street, within the same program.
At present, the Cañada Zamora is cut to the transit of vehicles in the section between the avenue of Lorca and the Santiago street, so that the works these days are being carried out at the height of the Barco street although they will be extended throughout the section of road to García Alix for a total amount of 120,000 euros.
The works planned in the Cañada Zamora will possibly continue early March;
and these will consist of the integral renovation of the sewerage and paving of this road.
The PARDOS for 2016 included the works to improve the Cánovas del Castillo and Cañada Zamora streets and the collection and evacuation of the rainwater from Teniente Pérez Redondo Street to the Arcos ravine, which were already executed after last summer .
In addition, this regional program also included the rehabilitation of the children's playground of the municipal park "Marcos Ortiz", in which the Community contributed 74,500 euros of the total 82,700 that the work imported, and which is open to the public from the past December, with a great acceptance by users.
